Amy M. Brachio,
Chief Executive OfficeR

Amy Brachio (BRAY-she-oh) joined Carbon Measures in September 2025 after nearly three decades at Ernst & Young (EY), continuing her leadership in advancing the evolution of how global organizations navigate the complex intersection of climate action, business resilience, and the urgent need for accurate, verifiable data to underpin solid decision-making.

In her most recent role as Partner and Global Vice Chair for Sustainability at EY, she drove EY’s offerings to help thousands of global clients achieve their sustainability goals, led the company's ambitious 40% carbon emission reduction by 2025, and established EY as the global leader in sustainability services.

Throughout her career, Amy has played leading roles in shaping how corporations approach risk management, regulatory compliance, and sustainability. She established and directed EY's Business Consulting practice, leading more than 40,000 professionals globally. Amy also led EY's Risk Management practice, advising clients on enterprise risk management and guiding C-suites through critical challenges from cybersecurity threats to supply chain disruptions — understanding firsthand how consistent, credible standards create level playing fields that reward genuine innovation while preventing unfair competitive advantages. Her extensive risk management experience reinforced a fundamental principle that now drives Carbon Measures: you can't effectively manage what you can't accurately measure — a lesson that applies as critically to carbon emissions as it does to any enterprise risk.

Amy co-chaired the S30 group of Chief Sustainability Officers, serves on the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council, focused on the Economics of Equitable Transition, and represented EY with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. In 2024, she was ranked number four among the Top 100 Women in Sustainability.

Amy is a Certified Public Accountant in Minnesota and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Alabama. She recently obtained her master’s degree in Sustainability from Hult University, championing a program that EY put in place under her leadership to provide opportunities for EY employees to upskill in Sustainability.
